Our Rough Itinerary

Most of this is planned out, but still plenty that’s unbooked, especially in Asia… In short, it’s a rough draft until we actually do it:

SOUTH AMERICA

Early Jan: Leave SF, head to Buenos Aires

A few days in Buenos Aires

About a week river rafting on the Futaleufu in Patagonia (start outside a small town called Esquel, then cross the border into Chile)

About a week trekking in Torres del Paine (still Patagonia)

On the way back to Buenos Aires, stop in Calafate to see the glacial sheet

A few more days in Buenos Aires. Unfreeze our fingers, maybe take a tango class, have lots of delicious steak and Malbec, chillax

Then off to Africa! Redeye to Cape Town

AFRICA

About a week exploring Cape Town

Head to Kigali, Rwanda

Head North to Parc National des Volcanes (in Rwanda) to go gorilla tracking

Head to Tanzania. One week trekking Kilimanjaro

Four days of safari around Tanzania, from Lake Manyara to the Ngorogoro Crater to a night camping in the Serengeti

Spend a week giving back: work at the Majengo orphanage in Mto wa Mbu

Then head off to Southeast Asia! Transfer in Ethiopia, redeye to Bangkok

ASIA

Spend the first few days cooling out in Bangkok

A week in Myanmar. See the sprawling temples of Bagan, then a 3-day trek from Kalaw to Inle Lake

A few days in Luang Prabang, Laos

A few days in Angkor Wat, Cambodia

A week Vietnam. Four-day bike trip in the Mekong Delta

Then head “Down Undah…”

AUSTRALIA

A few days exploring Sydney

A few days in Kangaroo Island, off the Southwest coast of Australia

A night in Adelaide, then off to Lizard Island

Back to Sydney for a night

Then head home!!
